Busy mall weekend, oh the joy. Everyone seemed to be running around going no where. Though, it was always funny to see one or two guys carrying their girlfriends bags for them. I guess it wouldn't be funny to those that grew up with guys opening doors and being polite to the feminine gender. But, this was twenty-thirteen. No guy did that now, well unless they wanted something from you. But, that was hardly worth any guy to suddenly learn manners.
She felt like an idiot just standing there and calling out, "Sixty bucks to watch your little one". Handing out the home made flyers as people passed. Each flyer had the same information on them.
Arellia was wearing her boot cut blue jeans. With her green shirt that had a picture of kids around the earth and it said, "Children are our future". Yeah, she was pretty desperate to get a gig since she knew prom was coming up. She was going to prom whether her parents let her or not. So, she stood there handing out neon green flyers to strangers in her black slip on shoes. Her red shoulder length hair was up in a pony tail. Arellia almost looked like a camp counselor handing out camp flyers. She had no other choice really. She wanted to be normal.
For the dance she had her brown eyes on this beautiful flowing green strapless dress and she found matching shoes. She already planned on buying an emerald silver necklace, but she had no idea what she was going to do with her hair. Arellia was a bit depressed cause her little circle of friends already bought their dresses. Not to mention they had dates as well. She wasn't sure what she did to put guys off. Two guys from her math class had come up to her to ask her to the dance during the week. But, when she faced them and tried to flirt with them, one guy stuttered and walked away while the second guy acted like his phone was ringing and ran off.
She had no idea about guys other than the pack males that she played with and joked around with. Human males were different and weird. If a guy from her pack wanted a girl, they would just go up and ask. If they got shot down, ha, that wouldn't stop them from trying again until they worn down the girl. Or, they got slapped. Whichever one came first.
Arellia had been at the mall since it opened without getting breakfast. She was pretty hungry, but didn't want to stop handing out flyers. She was getting that dress one way or another. A woman came up with a little girl, probably around six or so. The girl's mother took the flyer and was looking it over when Arellia's stomach made a protest. Arellia smiled at the bland woman with an up do and the woman returned Arellia's flyer to her. Watching the woman and child walk away, she sighed and gave into her stomach. She set out to find something to eat at the food court.
