History --
When he was turned some odd centuries ago by the head of the Kiersted house hold. Artemis has been around for a very long time. He has seen many races come and go and those who have rebuilt their culture from the ground up. Yet, in the Kiersted house hold, his position has and ever will be of two parts. The first position is to honor the Kiersted house and as he is told by the council; this means he is an assassin of sorts. Second position, make sure the new comer he is assigned too is simulated into the house and the race they are now. When he is assigned to a new vampire, he is their friend, father, protector, and educates them on Vampire law.
When he was human it wasn't like this at all. He was a great hunter for his people. One night after fending off some blood suckers. He was given an honor rite to raise one of the most honorable and noblest of creatures. A Dire Wolf pup. Everyone thought the men Artemis had fought off were mad men. But, sadly they weren't finished with Artemis's tribe. The night the vampire came back they out numbered the humans this time by a hundred to one. Artemis and his now full grown Dire Wolf fought them as best they could. That's when he woke up in a castle far away from anything he had ever knew. The vampires kept him asleep for a century or two and had woke him when they needed him. The unbelievable part in all of this; his Dire Wolf still lived and was right by his side. Artemis was told later on that every vampire that came near Artemis was killed by his wolf companion. Only the leader of the Kiersted house hold could get near him without the wolf going mad. None of them know why the Dire Wolf has lived as long as he has, but Artemis believes the wolf is bonded to him. Which is a greater honor than Artemis deserves.
